1. When you buy a diamond with a GemEx Certificate, you know how your diamond performs. Each and every diamond on a GemEx Certificate has been scientifically measured for brilliance, fire and sparkle.
2. The Certificate lets you choose the most appealing combination of brilliance, fire and sparkle.
3. The Bar Graphs: The bar graphs on each certificate show you the diamond’s rating compared to all other diamonds of the same shape. GemEx set the scales for each diamond shape by measuring tens of thousands of diamonds to determine the range of brilliance, fire and sparkle possible.
4. The five light measurements: These measurements show how the diamond will look when you are wearing it. What makes a diamond show its brilliance, fire and sparkle is the way the diamond plays with light. This is measured by moving the diamond or the light. GemEx ensures accurate brilliance, fire and sparkle measurement by measuring the diamond at multiple light positions.

The Technology: BrillianceScope^® Analyzer
1. Each and every diamond is independently and scientifically measured by the patented BrillianceScope Analyzer.
2. An imaging spectrophotometer developed to measure diamonds by an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer and a physicist.
3. The Certificate Bar Graphs: Tens of thousands of diamonds were measured to determine the range of brilliance possible in each diamond shape. This was then repeated for fire and sparkle.
4. By using five measurements of the diamond, GemEx guarantees accurate results. Multiple angle measurements are used because a diamond is in motion while it is being worn.
